A community's sustainability depends on it's long-term ability to meet residents' needs. One of our goals at K-State Research and Extension is to provide technical assistance and evidence-based programs to citizens who want to make sure their communities survive and prosper.

K-State Research and Extension can play a key role in helping people create a vision across traditional geographical, sociological, and political boundaries. As Henry Ford said "Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success."

First Friday E-Calls

K-State Research and Extension offers an entrepreneurship webinar every first Friday of the month. The purpose of the First Friday e-Call is to increase the local community's knowledge of the experts, education and economic resources available to help small businesses and entrepreneurs and to share innovations in community development.

Facilitation

Facilitation makes it easier to have conversations with people with different points of view, about how to identify and reduce problems, make plans and set goals. Our agents and staff facilitate dialogues and meetings across the state every day because we believe that conversation is key to building vital communities.

Our Community Vitality team offers grant writing classes, specific grant searches, access to professional grant writing tools and personal coaching for people who write grants for Kansas communities.
